The disadvantages of getting too much sleep

As a responsible and caring person of one’s family, one must be always vigilant at one’s activities of everyday life, because the good intentions, the good deeds and actions are of much value and significance in living a good life.

Living a good life involves how one maintains the attitude of survival beyond any event and improves life following the ways to wisdom. Hence, one needs to pave oneself the ways to success overcoming those hindering success. One of the ways that get in way of success is the habit of oversleeping.

Excessive sleep hinders one’s desired success. The amount of sleep that one needs depends on some factors and age. In accordance with this, a person needs to get sufficient sleep. As a health point of view, the recommended amount of sleep for adults is 7 to 9 hours. As insufficient sleep can cause health problems including other problems, oversleeping may be a root cause of many health problems as well. Oversleeping has many side effects. It makes a person more sleepy, tired and depressed. It leads one to reduce one’s alertness and compels to stimulate unproductiveness. It gives no interest or no enthusiasm in his everyday life. Thus an excessive sleep must be regarded as one of the greatest causes of hindering one’s success.

Oversleep becomes a great obstacle in the attainment of goals and objectives of one’s life. One cannot give the time which is required to fulfill his or her own developed objectives. There are things that need not be delayed, but must be accomplished on timely basis. Since a person, due to the bad habit of oversleeping, is unable to spare the required time and energy to carry out those activities, he or she may face nothing but disappointments. It must be noted that success comes to those who fulfill its demands, such as, earnest and persistent efforts, hard work with sufficient time and energy. Hence, a lazy person stands away even from the sweet smell of success.

Just being intelligent does not lead to success, but being diligent does also matter. Being diligent is not less important than being intelligent, in this way, being diligent involves cutting short of excessive time of sleeping.

Oversleep effect is not good for health and everyday life in which you need to manage various important affairs. If one experiences more sleepiness, one must consult the doctor, as he or she may suggest the ways to overcome the habit of oversleeping or a course if it’s related to any physical or mental illness.

However, if one takes excessive sleep just for the sake of extra rest or comfort, actually by doing so, he discomforts his life by damaging his overall energy and productivity and alertness, which is more than enough to hinder one’s success. It must be remembered that “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
